No, no es el principio de un chiste sino el resultado de un estudio de \u201c<strong>Transport &amp; Environment<\/strong>\u201d. Y sus conclusiones son claras: la mayor\u00eda de los clientes de Uber est\u00e1 dispuesto a pagar m\u00e1s por un viaje \u201climpio\u201d <strong>y 100% sostenible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed es, los consumidores de Uber de los principales pa\u00edses de la Uni\u00f3n Europea se alinean hacia una movilidad sostenible ya que un <strong>52%<\/strong> afirma que estar\u00eda dispuesto a pagar m\u00e1s (entre 15 y 20 c\u00e9ntimos por kil\u00f3metro) por un viaje que no produjese emisiones en un veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico. Esto tambi\u00e9n se debe a que dentro de estos consumidores, el <strong>44% de londinenses <\/strong>cree que la empresa es perjudicial para el medioambiente, frente a un <strong>34% de parisinos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Los datos de estas dos ciudades en concreto no son casualidad ya que se estima que Uber ha contaminado entre estas dos urbes alrededor de media megatonelada (<strong>515 kilotoneladas<\/strong>) de CO2. Este dato suena a\u00fan mas fuerte cuando tenemos en cuenta que dicha contaminaci\u00f3n equivale a la incorporaci\u00f3n de <strong>250.000 coches privados a las carreteras<\/strong> inglesas y francesas.<\/p>\n<p>Pero una vez hemos hablado de la demanda ecol\u00f3gica que se est\u00e1 dando en Europa, hablemos ahora de la oferta, es decir, de como est\u00e1 reaccionando Uber antes estas nuevas tendencias sociales y estas transformaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n<p>En Londres, el gigante de la movilidad cerr\u00f3 el pasado a\u00f1o un acuerdo con Nissan mediante el cual Uber iba a adquirir <strong>2.000 Nissan LEAFs<\/strong>.\u00a0 Aun no se ha establecido un plazo pero se augura que se ir\u00e1n incorporando a la flota para este 2020. Estos LEAFs son coches <strong>100% el\u00e9ctricos<\/strong> de gama media con una <strong>autonom\u00eda de unos 270 kms <\/strong>(seg\u00fan la propia marca, seg\u00fan el est\u00e1ndar americano ser\u00eda de 200 kms).<\/p>\n<p>La incorporaci\u00f3n de estos 2.000 veh\u00edculos en la capital inglesa no supone un gran aumento teniendo en cuenta que actualmente hay <strong>45.000 conductores de Uber en la ciudad<\/strong> (no, no nos hemos confundido poniendo ceros) pero abre las puertas a la electrificaci\u00f3n en la movilidad de la empresa.<\/p>\n<p>Respecto a la autonom\u00eda de estos nuevos veh\u00edculos, los 270 kms (tomemos el est\u00e1ndar de Nissan) que tienen supone 7 veces m\u00e1s de lo que conduce diariamente el conductor medio de Reino Unido. Y, a pesar de que no es comparable la conducci\u00f3n media de un trabajador de Uber respecto a un particular, es algo con lo que de momento tendr\u00e1n que conformarse (por motivos que explicaremos m\u00e1s adelante). Adem\u00e1s, Uber tiene un plan para la capital inglesa: cerrar el <strong>2025 con el 100% de su flota el\u00e9ctrica<\/strong>, sostenible y sin emisiones.<\/p>\n<p>Para conseguir este objetivo, adem\u00e1s, el gobierno ingl\u00e9s ofrece una peque\u00f1a subvenci\u00f3n de unas <strong>3.500 libras<\/strong> (unos 4.023 euros) a aquellos conductores profesionales o particulares que compren un coche el\u00e9ctrico. Cabe a\u00f1adir que Londres se est\u00e1 <strong>transformando paulatinamente en una zona de acceso moderado<\/strong> (y a veces restringido) a aquellos veh\u00edculos que no presenten las correctas medidas medioambientales (como los coches di\u00e9sel, que a\u00fan son mayor\u00eda en Uber). Y el \u00faltimo motivo a tener en cuenta es el m\u00e1s evidente: la salud. Es inviable pensar a d\u00eda de hoy que una ciudad s\u00faper poblada como Londres puede perdurar con este sistema de movilidad <strong>sin poner en riesgo la salud<\/strong> de todos sus habitantes.<\/p>\n<p>Y hasta aqu\u00ed el entorno internacional del VTC. Ahora centr\u00e9monos en nuestro pa\u00eds. \u00bfC\u00f3mo funciona o funcionar\u00eda la movilidad sostenible de VTC en Espa\u00f1a?<\/p>\n<p>Para poner en claro los antecedentes, en Espa\u00f1a hay <strong>m\u00e1s de 16.000 licencias de VTC<\/strong> (lo cual parece poco si lo comparamos con las de Londres) distribuidas entre los mayores n\u00facleos urbanos del pa\u00eds principalmente y con bastante desigualdad (En Madrid hay 8.312 a finales de 2019 mientras que en Soria hay 0). No ha habido gran intento de electrificar la movilidad de la capital por parte de Uber salvo por dos iniciativas que, a pesar de originales, sostenibles y bienintencionadas no suponen un verdadero cambio.<\/p>\n<p>La primera es <strong>UberOne<\/strong>, la cual incorpor\u00f3 un servicio premium a la empresa con la adquisici\u00f3n de 50 <strong>Tesla Model S<\/strong> (totalmente el\u00e9ctricos) y la segunda es \u201c<strong>JUMP<\/strong>\u201d, la diversificaci\u00f3n de Uber hacia los patinetes el\u00e9ctricos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cabify <\/strong>tambi\u00e9n trat\u00f3 de posicionarse como una empresa comprometida con la sostenibilidad cuando en 2018 proclam\u00f3 que para 2020 todos sus coches ser\u00edan el\u00e9ctricos o h\u00edbridos, sin embargo conforme va avanzando el a\u00f1o parece una meta cada vez m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil de cumplir.<\/p>\n<p>Pero \u00bfqu\u00e9 impacto tienen realmente los VTC en la capital a nivel de contaminaci\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<p>Las emisiones medias de veh\u00edculos vendidos en Europa en 2019 son de <strong>120, 6 g de CO2\/km<\/strong>. Seg\u00fan el INE los veh\u00edculos con una antig\u00fcedad entre 0 y 4 a\u00f1os (que supondr\u00edan los m\u00e1s modernos de Uber) hacen una media de <strong>13.889,5 kms anuales<\/strong>. Esto significa que cada veh\u00edculo de Uber (los no el\u00e9ctricos) contaminan unos <strong>1.675 kg<\/strong> de CO2 al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Si a este dato le a\u00f1adimos las 8.312 licencias VTC que hay en Madrid nos da el resultado final de que contaminan en total unas <strong>13.922,6 Toneladas de CO2<\/strong> al aire de los madrile\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Y ante este problema de poluci\u00f3n \u00bfQu\u00e9 soluci\u00f3n se puede dar? Para empezar, hay que ver si es viable que tal cantidad de veh\u00edculos pasen a ser el\u00e9ctricos con la accesibilidad a la energ\u00eda que hay ahora mismo en Madrid. En la capital contamos con unos <strong>584 cargadores p\u00fablicos<\/strong> para veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos. A pesar de que este n\u00famero vaya a aumentar en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os, de momento no cumple la proporci\u00f3n 10\/1 (10 veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos por cargador) que habr\u00eda si los VTC pasaran a ser el\u00e9ctricos. Y a pesar de que las propias empresas que ofrecen estos veh\u00edculos instalaran cargadores privados para sus coches, el acceso a la energ\u00eda seguir\u00eda siendo limitado. Aquellos que hayan le\u00eddo nuestro art\u00edculo anterior sabr\u00e1n que no solo es importante que un veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico tenga <strong>oferta energ\u00e9tica disponible<\/strong> cerca, sino que adem\u00e1s es vital para este tipo de movilidad que existan las recargas <em>\u201c<strong>in situ<\/strong>\u201d,<\/em> es decir, que el conductor de veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico sepa que si se queda sin bater\u00eda le van a poder ayudar.<\/p>\n<p>Por \u00faltimo, debemos demandar un cambio del comportamiento del consumidor dentro de la movilidad. Es cierto que el <strong>coche el\u00e9ctrico<\/strong> tarda mucho m\u00e1s en recargar que uno de di\u00e9sel o gasolina, pero comparar uno con otro es un error dado que uno mantiene sus <strong>emisiones a 0<\/strong> mientras que el otro contamina 120 g de CO2\/km. <strong>No son productos sustitutivos<\/strong>. Es innegable que habr\u00e1 m\u00e1s aspectos en los que el veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico tenga limitaciones t\u00e9cnicas respecto a los otros, pero aun as\u00ed vale la pena si tenemos en cuenta sus ventajas. Igual que se renunci\u00f3 a los m\u00f3viles antiguos cuya bater\u00eda duraba una semana por los \u201csmartphones\u201d cuya bater\u00eda dura un d\u00eda pero tienen muchas m\u00e1s prestaciones<strong>. Las nuevas prestaciones del veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico son, evidentemente, la salud.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Y t\u00fa \u00bfCrees que es posible la electrificaci\u00f3n de los VTC? \u00bfC\u00f3mo afectar\u00e1 esto al ciudadano? \u00a1Os leemos!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1046 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.fullandfast.com.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/app-2941689_1920.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1920px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1920\/1280;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1046\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fullandfast.com.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/app-2941689_1920.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/noscript>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">How are the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium similar? No, this is not the beginning of a joke but the result of a study by &#8220;Transport &amp; Environment&#8221;. And its conclusions are clear: most of Uber&#8217;s customers are willing to pay more for a &#8220;clean&#8221; and 100% sustainable trip.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">That&#8217;s right, Uber&#8217;s consumers in the main countries of the European Union are aligned towards sustainable mobility as 52% say they would be willing to pay more (between 15 and 20 cents per kilometer) for a trip that does not produce emissions in an electric vehicle. This is also because within these consumers, 44% of Londoners believe that the company is harmful to the environment, compared to 34% of Parisians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The data from these two cities in particular are not coincidental since it is estimated that Uber has polluted between these two cities around half a megaton (515 kilotonnes) of CO2. This data sounds even stronger when we take into account that this pollution is equivalent to the incorporation of 250,000 private cars on English and French roads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But once we have talked about the ecological demand that is taking place in Europe, let us now talk about the supply, that is, how Uber is reacting to these new social trends and these technological transformations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In London, the mobility giant closed a deal last year with Nissan whereby Uber was to acquire 2,000 Nissan LEAFs.\u00a0 A deadline has not yet been set, but it is expected that they will be added to the fleet by 2020. These LEAFs are 100% electric mid-range cars with a range of about 270 km (according to the brand, the American standard would be 200 km).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0The incorporation of these 2,000 vehicles in the English capital does not mean a great increase considering that there are currently 45,000 Uber drivers in the city (no, we have not confused putting zeros) but it opens the door to electrification in the mobility of the company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Regarding the autonomy of these new vehicles, the 270 kms (take the Nissan standard) they have is 7 times more than the average UK driver drives daily. And, although the average Uber worker&#8217;s driving is not comparable to that of a private individual, it is something they will have to make do with for the time being (for reasons we will explain later). Furthermore, Uber has a plan for the English capital: to close in 2025 with 100% of its electric fleet, sustainable and without emissions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To achieve this goal, the British government offers a small grant of about 3,500 pounds (about 4,023 euros) to those professional drivers or individuals who buy an electric car. It should be added that London is gradually becoming an area of moderate (and sometimes restricted) access to those vehicles that do not have the right environmental measures (such as diesel cars, which are still the majority in Uber). And the last reason to take into account is the most obvious one: health. It is unfeasible to think today that a super-populated city like London can survive with this system of mobility without putting the health of all its inhabitants at risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And up to here the international environment of the VTC. Now let&#8217;s focus on our country. How does or would the sustainable mobility of VTC work in Spain?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To clarify the background, in Spain there are more than 16,000 VTC licenses (which seems little compared to those in London) distributed mainly among the largest urban areas of the country and with considerable inequality (in Madrid there are 8,312 at the end of 2019 while in Soria there are 0). There has been no great attempt to electrify the mobility of the capital by Uber except for two initiatives which, despite being original, sustainable and well intentioned, do not represent a real change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The first one is UberOne, which incorporated a premium service to the company with the acquisition of 50 Tesla Model S (totally electric) and the second one is &#8220;JUMP&#8221;, Uber&#8217;s diversification towards electric scooters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Cabify also sought to position itself as a company committed to sustainability when in 2018 it proclaimed that by 2020 all of its cars would be electric or hybrid, however as the year progresses it seems an increasingly difficult goal to meet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But what impact do VTCs really have on the capital city in terms of pollution?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The average emissions of vehicles sold in Europe in 2019 are 120.6 g of CO2\/km. According to the INE, vehicles between 0 and 4 years old (which would be the most modern in Uber) will make an average of 13,889.5 km per year. This means that each Uber vehicle (the non-electric ones) pollutes about 1,675 kg of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If we add to this data the 8,312 VTC licences in Madrid, we get the final result that they pollute a total of 13,922.6 tons of CO2 in the air of the people of Madrid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And in the face of this pollution problem, what solution can be given? To begin with, we have to see if it is viable that such a quantity of vehicles become electric with the accessibility to energy that there is right now in Madrid. In the capital we have some 584 public chargers for electric vehicles. Although this number will increase in the next few years, at the moment it does not meet the 10\/1 ratio (10 electric vehicles per charger) that would exist if the VTCs were to go electric. And even if the companies offering these vehicles themselves installed private chargers for their cars, access to energy would still be limited. Those who have read our previous article will know that not only is it important for an electric vehicle to have an energy supply available nearby, but it is also vital for this type of mobility that recharges exist &#8220;on the spot&#8221;, that is, that the electric vehicle driver knows that if he runs out of battery they will be able to help him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Finally, we must demand a change in consumer behaviour within mobility. It is true that the electric car takes much longer to recharge than a diesel or petrol car, but comparing one with the other is a mistake since one keeps its emissions at 0 while the other pollutes 120 g of CO2\/km. They are not substitutes. It is undeniable that there will be more aspects in which the electric vehicle has technical limitations compared to the others, but it is still worthwhile if we consider its advantages. Just as we gave up on old mobiles whose battery lasted a week for &#8220;smartphones&#8221; whose battery lasts a day but has many more features. The new features of the electric vehicle are obviously health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And you, do you think that the electrification of VTCs is possible? Esto tambi\u00e9n se debe a que dentro de estos consumidores, el <strong>44% de londinenses <\/strong>cree que la empresa es perjudicial para el medioambiente, frente a un <strong>34% de parisinos<\/strong>.\n\nLos datos de estas dos ciudades en concreto no son casualidad ya que se estima que Uber ha contaminado entre estas dos urbes alrededor de media megatonelada (<strong>515 kilotoneladas<\/strong>) de CO2. Este dato suena a\u00fan mas fuerte cuando tenemos en cuenta que dicha contaminaci\u00f3n equivale a la incorporaci\u00f3n de <strong>250.000 coches privados a las carreteras<\/strong> inglesas y francesas.\n\nPero una vez hemos hablado de la demanda ecol\u00f3gica que se est\u00e1 dando en Europa, hablemos ahora de la oferta, es decir, de como est\u00e1 reaccionando Uber antes estas nuevas tendencias sociales y estas transformaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas.\n\nEn Londres, el gigante de la movilidad cerr\u00f3 el pasado a\u00f1o un acuerdo con Nissan mediante el cual Uber iba a adquirir <strong>2.000 Nissan LEAFs<\/strong>.\u00a0 Aun no se ha establecido un plazo pero se augura que se ir\u00e1n incorporando a la flota para este 2020. Estos LEAFs son coches <strong>100% el\u00e9ctricos<\/strong> de gama media con una <strong>autonom\u00eda de unos 270 kms <\/strong>(seg\u00fan la propia marca, seg\u00fan el est\u00e1ndar americano ser\u00eda de 200 kms).\n\nLa incorporaci\u00f3n de estos 2.000 veh\u00edculos en la capital inglesa no supone un gran aumento teniendo en cuenta que actualmente hay <strong>45.000 conductores de Uber en la ciudad<\/strong> (no, no nos hemos confundido poniendo ceros) pero abre las puertas a la electrificaci\u00f3n en la movilidad de la empresa.\n\nRespecto a la autonom\u00eda de estos nuevos veh\u00edculos, los 270 kms (tomemos el est\u00e1ndar de Nissan) que tienen supone 7 veces m\u00e1s de lo que conduce diariamente el conductor medio de Reino Unido. Y, a pesar de que no es comparable la conducci\u00f3n media de un trabajador de Uber respecto a un particular, es algo con lo que de momento tendr\u00e1n que conformarse (por motivos que explicaremos m\u00e1s adelante). Adem\u00e1s, Uber tiene un plan para la capital inglesa: cerrar el <strong>2025 con el 100% de su flota el\u00e9ctrica<\/strong>, sostenible y sin emisiones.\n\nPara conseguir este objetivo, adem\u00e1s, el gobierno ingl\u00e9s ofrece una peque\u00f1a subvenci\u00f3n de unas <strong>3.500 libras<\/strong> (unos 4.023 euros) a aquellos conductores profesionales o particulares que compren un coche el\u00e9ctrico. Cabe a\u00f1adir que Londres se est\u00e1 <strong>transformando paulatinamente en una zona de acceso moderado<\/strong> (y a veces restringido) a aquellos veh\u00edculos que no presenten las correctas medidas medioambientales (como los coches di\u00e9sel, que a\u00fan son mayor\u00eda en Uber). Y el \u00faltimo motivo a tener en cuenta es el m\u00e1s evidente: la salud. Es inviable pensar a d\u00eda de hoy que una ciudad s\u00faper poblada como Londres puede perdurar con este sistema de movilidad <strong>sin poner en riesgo la salud<\/strong> de todos sus habitantes.\n\nY hasta aqu\u00ed el entorno internacional del VTC. Ahora centr\u00e9monos en nuestro pa\u00eds. \u00bfC\u00f3mo funciona o funcionar\u00eda la movilidad sostenible de VTC en Espa\u00f1a?\n\nPara poner en claro los antecedentes, en Espa\u00f1a hay <strong>m\u00e1s de 16.000 licencias de VTC<\/strong> (lo cual parece poco si lo comparamos con las de Londres) distribuidas entre los mayores n\u00facleos urbanos del pa\u00eds principalmente y con bastante desigualdad (En Madrid hay 8.312 a finales de 2019 mientras que en Soria hay 0). No ha habido gran intento de electrificar la movilidad de la capital por parte de Uber salvo por dos iniciativas que, a pesar de originales, sostenibles y bienintencionadas no suponen un verdadero cambio.\n\nLa primera es <strong>UberOne<\/strong>, la cual incorpor\u00f3 un servicio premium a la empresa con la adquisici\u00f3n de 50 <strong>Tesla Model S<\/strong> (totalmente el\u00e9ctricos) y la segunda es \u201c<strong>JUMP<\/strong>\u201d, la diversificaci\u00f3n de Uber hacia los patinetes el\u00e9ctricos.\n\n<strong>Cabify <\/strong>tambi\u00e9n trat\u00f3 de posicionarse como una empresa comprometida con la sostenibilidad cuando en 2018 proclam\u00f3 que para 2020 todos sus coches ser\u00edan el\u00e9ctricos o h\u00edbridos, sin embargo conforme va avanzando el a\u00f1o parece una meta cada vez m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil de cumplir.\n\nPero \u00bfqu\u00e9 impacto tienen realmente los VTC en la capital a nivel de contaminaci\u00f3n?\n\nLas emisiones medias de veh\u00edculos vendidos en Europa en 2019 son de <strong>120, 6 g de CO2\/km<\/strong>. Seg\u00fan el INE los veh\u00edculos con una antig\u00fcedad entre 0 y 4 a\u00f1os (que supondr\u00edan los m\u00e1s modernos de Uber) hacen una media de <strong>13.889,5 kms anuales<\/strong>. Esto significa que cada veh\u00edculo de Uber (los no el\u00e9ctricos) contaminan unos <strong>1.675 kg<\/strong> de CO2 al a\u00f1o.\n\nSi a este dato le a\u00f1adimos las 8.312 licencias VTC que hay en Madrid nos da el resultado final de que contaminan en total unas <strong>13.922,6 Toneladas de CO2<\/strong> al aire de los madrile\u00f1os.\n\nY ante este problema de poluci\u00f3n \u00bfQu\u00e9 soluci\u00f3n se puede dar? Para empezar, hay que ver si es viable que tal cantidad de veh\u00edculos pasen a ser el\u00e9ctricos con la accesibilidad a la energ\u00eda que hay ahora mismo en Madrid. En la capital contamos con unos <strong>584 cargadores p\u00fablicos<\/strong> para veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos. A pesar de que este n\u00famero vaya a aumentar en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os, de momento no cumple la proporci\u00f3n 10\/1 (10 veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos por cargador) que habr\u00eda si los VTC pasaran a ser el\u00e9ctricos. Y a pesar de que las propias empresas que ofrecen estos veh\u00edculos instalaran cargadores privados para sus coches, el acceso a la energ\u00eda seguir\u00eda siendo limitado. Aquellos que hayan le\u00eddo nuestro art\u00edculo anterior sabr\u00e1n que no solo es importante que un veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico tenga <strong>oferta energ\u00e9tica disponible<\/strong> cerca, sino que adem\u00e1s es vital para este tipo de movilidad que existan las recargas <em>\u201c<strong>in situ<\/strong>\u201d,<\/em> es decir, que el conductor de veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico sepa que si se queda sin bater\u00eda le van a poder ayudar.\n\nPor \u00faltimo, debemos demandar un cambio del comportamiento del consumidor dentro de la movilidad. Es cierto que el <strong>coche el\u00e9ctrico<\/strong> tarda mucho m\u00e1s en recargar que uno de di\u00e9sel o gasolina, pero comparar uno con otro es un error dado que uno mantiene sus <strong>emisiones a 0<\/strong> mientras que el otro contamina 120 g de CO2\/km. <strong>No son productos sustitutivos<\/strong>. Es innegable que habr\u00e1 m\u00e1s aspectos en los que el veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico tenga limitaciones t\u00e9cnicas respecto a los otros, pero aun as\u00ed vale la pena si tenemos en cuenta sus ventajas. Igual que se renunci\u00f3 a los m\u00f3viles antiguos cuya bater\u00eda duraba una semana por los \u201csmartphones\u201d cuya bater\u00eda dura un d\u00eda pero tienen muchas m\u00e1s prestaciones<strong>. Las nuevas prestaciones del veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico son, evidentemente, la salud.<\/strong>\n\nY t\u00fa \u00bfCrees que es posible la electrificaci\u00f3n de los VTC? \u00bfC\u00f3mo afectar\u00e1 esto al ciudadano? \u00a1Os leemos!\n\n<strong>\u00a0<img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1046\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fullandfast.com.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/app-2941689_1920.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">How are the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium similar? No, this is not the beginning of a joke but the result of a study by \"Transport & Environment\". And its conclusions are clear: most of Uber's customers are willing to pay more for a \"clean\" and 100% sustainable trip.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">That's right, Uber's consumers in the main countries of the European Union are aligned towards sustainable mobility as 52% say they would be willing to pay more (between 15 and 20 cents per kilometer) for a trip that does not produce emissions in an electric vehicle. This is also because within these consumers, 44% of Londoners believe that the company is harmful to the environment, compared to 34% of Parisians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The data from these two cities in particular are not coincidental since it is estimated that Uber has polluted between these two cities around half a megaton (515 kilotonnes) of CO2. This data sounds even stronger when we take into account that this pollution is equivalent to the incorporation of 250,000 private cars on English and French roads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But once we have talked about the ecological demand that is taking place in Europe, let us now talk about the supply, that is, how Uber is reacting to these new social trends and these technological transformations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In London, the mobility giant closed a deal last year with Nissan whereby Uber was to acquire 2,000 Nissan LEAFs.\u00a0 A deadline has not yet been set, but it is expected that they will be added to the fleet by 2020. These LEAFs are 100% electric mid-range cars with a range of about 270 km (according to the brand, the American standard would be 200 km).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0The incorporation of these 2,000 vehicles in the English capital does not mean a great increase considering that there are currently 45,000 Uber drivers in the city (no, we have not confused putting zeros) but it opens the door to electrification in the mobility of the company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Regarding the autonomy of these new vehicles, the 270 kms (take the Nissan standard) they have is 7 times more than the average UK driver drives daily. And, although the average Uber worker's driving is not comparable to that of a private individual, it is something they will have to make do with for the time being (for reasons we will explain later). Furthermore, Uber has a plan for the English capital: to close in 2025 with 100% of its electric fleet, sustainable and without emissions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To achieve this goal, the British government offers a small grant of about 3,500 pounds (about 4,023 euros) to those professional drivers or individuals who buy an electric car. It should be added that London is gradually becoming an area of moderate (and sometimes restricted) access to those vehicles that do not have the right environmental measures (such as diesel cars, which are still the majority in Uber). And the last reason to take into account is the most obvious one: health. It is unfeasible to think today that a super-populated city like London can survive with this system of mobility without putting the health of all its inhabitants at risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And up to here the international environment of the VTC. Now let's focus on our country. How does or would the sustainable mobility of VTC work in Spain?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To clarify the background, in Spain there are more than 16,000 VTC licenses (which seems little compared to those in London) distributed mainly among the largest urban areas of the country and with considerable inequality (in Madrid there are 8,312 at the end of 2019 while in Soria there are 0). There has been no great attempt to electrify the mobility of the capital by Uber except for two initiatives which, despite being original, sustainable and well intentioned, do not represent a real change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The first one is UberOne, which incorporated a premium service to the company with the acquisition of 50 Tesla Model S (totally electric) and the second one is \"JUMP\", Uber's diversification towards electric scooters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Cabify also sought to position itself as a company committed to sustainability when in 2018 it proclaimed that by 2020 all of its cars would be electric or hybrid, however as the year progresses it seems an increasingly difficult goal to meet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But what impact do VTCs really have on the capital city in terms of pollution?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The average emissions of vehicles sold in Europe in 2019 are 120.6 g of CO2\/km. According to the INE, vehicles between 0 and 4 years old (which would be the most modern in Uber) will make an average of 13,889.5 km per year. This means that each Uber vehicle (the non-electric ones) pollutes about 1,675 kg of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If we add to this data the 8,312 VTC licences in Madrid, we get the final result that they pollute a total of 13,922.6 tons of CO2 in the air of the people of Madrid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And in the face of this pollution problem, what solution can be given? To begin with, we have to see if it is viable that such a quantity of vehicles become electric with the accessibility to energy that there is right now in Madrid. In the capital we have some 584 public chargers for electric vehicles. Although this number will increase in the next few years, at the moment it does not meet the 10\/1 ratio (10 electric vehicles per charger) that would exist if the VTCs were to go electric. And even if the companies offering these vehicles themselves installed private chargers for their cars, access to energy would still be limited. Those who have read our previous article will know that not only is it important for an electric vehicle to have an energy supply available nearby, but it is also vital for this type of mobility that recharges exist \"on the spot\", that is, that the electric vehicle driver knows that if he runs out of battery they will be able to help him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Finally, we must demand a change in consumer behaviour within mobility. It is true that the electric car takes much longer to recharge than a diesel or petrol car, but comparing one with the other is a mistake since one keeps its emissions at 0 while the other pollutes 120 g of CO2\/km. They are not substitutes. It is undeniable that there will be more aspects in which the electric vehicle has technical limitations compared to the others, but it is still worthwhile if we consider its advantages. Just as we gave up on old mobiles whose battery lasted a week for \"smartphones\" whose battery lasts a day but has many more features. The new features of the electric vehicle are obviously health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And you, do you think that the electrification of VTCs is possible?
